Founders Edson and Natalie Diaz-Fuentes have taken over a site on Thayer Street that previously housed Carlo Scotto\u2019s Xier and most recently the Peruvian izakaya Nakanojo. Announcing the new opening on Instagram, Edson and Natalie expressed their excitement: \u201cWe are thrilled to announce the next chapter in our journey: we will be opening our third restaurant in Marylebone in November 2024. We look forward to welcoming all our regular and new guests to Santo Remedio Marylebone and to being a part of this neighbourhood.\u201d <\/p>\n
Edson, who was the head of menu innovation at Wahaca, and Natalie launched Santo Remedio in 2016 on Rivington Street in Shoreditch. The initial restaurant quickly became popular with both diners and critics, with Jay Rayner from The Observer describing it as \u2018full of lightness and brightness, colour, punch and enthusiasm.\u2019 However, just five months after opening, the couple was forced to close the restaurant permanently. They later relocated to London Bridge in 2017 and returned to Shoreditch in late 2021 with the caf\u00e9 on Great Eastern Street.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, Natalie shared their long-term ambitions for the business, stating, \u201cIn five years\u2019 time I would like a collection of restaurants.\u201d Besides caf\u00e9s and full-service restaurants like those in Shoreditch and London Bridge, they are open to creating taquerias and bars featuring live music, aiming to broaden perceptions of Mexican cuisine through various concepts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
