Star Pubs has launched its 200th Just Add Talent pub, The Hesketh in Cheadle Hulme, near Stockport. Following an 18-month closure and a £350,000 investment, the pub has reopened as a family-friendly neighborhood local.

The investment has resulted in the creation of up to 20 new jobs. This opening is part of the company’s plan to reach 260 Just Add Talent pubs by the end of 2027. Six of these conversions involved long-term closed pubs, similar to The Hesketh.

The Hesketh is categorized as a Premium Local, one of three styles in the Just Add Talent initiative, with the others being Community and High Street, determined by location, amenities, and customer profile.

The refurbishment has included a complete makeover of both the interior and exterior, with outdoor seating increasing to accommodate 64 guests. The interior is designed for versatility with a new games area featuring illuminated darts, a pool table, HD TV, and comfortable seating arrangements. It also boasts a dining area with a wood burner, and a bar featuring a mix of seating styles.

The kitchen has been upgraded to cater for more customers and to introduce the new Just Add Talent winter menu, which is projected to contribute to 30% of sales.

Mick Howard, Operations Director at Star Pubs, stated, “Our trading figures, up 4.2% this year to date, indicate that Just Add Talent pubs resonate with pubgoers. Mainly located in suburban and estate areas and offering sports, live entertainment, and food, they provide communities with a great British pub experience.”
