Theatrical afternoon tea will evolve into a nighttime dining experience, led by renowned pie expert Calum Franklin.

Since its inception in 1911, The Georgian has been a significant player in London’s dining scene. For over a century, it has provided an authentic taste of British style, renowned for its quality dining experiences and exceptional service.

On November 4th, The Georgian will reopen following a comprehensive refurbishment, ready to welcome London’s elite and visitors. The restaurant will blend historic charm with modern style, offering unique British dining experiences throughout the day and into the evening.

Spanning over 10,000 square feet at Harrods, the redesign by David Collins Studio will honor the building’s heritage, maintaining its Art Deco elegance while introducing opulent touches. The venue will seat 164 guests, featuring 25 stunning chandeliers that create a captivating ambiance. An entertainment program, including a central piano during afternoon tea and evolving music through the evening, will enhance the sophisticated atmosphere.

The Georgian’s Afternoon Tea will draw inspiration from Harrods’ rich history as a tea merchant since 1849, with expert tea sommeliers available to craft custom blends. Executive Pastry Chef Markus Bohr’s team will deliver an experience filled with theatricality and flair, featuring seasonal menu items like cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, confit duck on tomato bread, and a selection of exquisite pastries.

In the evening, The Georgian will embrace its roots as a lively dining destination reminiscent of 1920s London nightlife. Calum Franklin will lead the culinary offerings, focusing on quality British ingredients and traditional dishes, highlighted by ‘The Georgian Pie Experience.’ Franklin, celebrated for his creativity and flavor, will present a menu that honors the restaurant’s heritage while infusing modern twists. Classic dishes will include British oysters and caviar, along with starters like a consomme and Cornish crab tart, rounding out an extensive pie selection.

Every aspect of The Georgian will celebrate British elegance, transporting guests to an enchanting dining environment with top-tier service synonymous with Harrods. This restaurant embodies the luxury retailer’s heritage and aims to provide a distinctive and memorable dining experience.

Ashley Saxton, Director of Restaurants and Kitchens, emphasizes their goal to blend The Georgian’s iconic charm with modern excellence, securing its status as a prominent London dining venue.
