Danish-Japanese restaurant group Sticks’n’Sushi has appointed Kushal Banerjee as its new chief financial officer.
Bringing over 17 years of experience, Banerjee has significant expertise in M&A, capital markets, and corporate strategy. He previously served as finance director at Azzurri Group, a private equity-backed hospitality investment platform with over 230 locations, for five years.
In his new role, Banerjee will head the finance teams in Copenhagen, Berlin, and London, overseeing the brand’s financial decision-making, implementing strategic board recommendations, and contributing to the group’s overall expansion.
Andreas Karlsson, CEO of Sticks’n’Sushi, expressed excitement about Banerjee’s addition, stating that his vast experience will be crucial for brand growth and the company’s ongoing expansion into new markets, creating jobs and long-term value for stakeholders.
Banerjee remarked that Sticks’n’Sushi has always impressed him as a beautifully curated brand with a rich heritage and unique potential. He is excited to join the team as CFO during this pivotal time for the business and to help develop the strategy for expansion.
Founded in Copenhagen in 1994 by half-Danish, half-Japanese brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek along with Thor Andersen, Sticks’n’Sushi has expanded to include twelve restaurants in and around the Danish capital, 14 in the UK, and three in Berlin, Germany.
