The first floor, 50-cover Tamarind Terrace features its own central bar and marks the debut solo project by designer Stephanie Barba Mendoza, previously part of the senior team at Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS).
This space is characterized as ‘instantly feminine and peaceful,’ adorned with enveloping curved pale teal velvet banquette seating and a central bar made of champagne-coloured sheer fabric by Fahmeed Khalique, which radiates under the open sky.
The tactile walls, crafted from Jesmonite, showcase floral motifs and are enhanced by antiqued glass detailing paired with low to mid-level lighting and lush verdigris planters.
The restaurant has introduced a terrace menu available from 3 PM, offering a variety of small plates, salads, grills, and desserts, along with a new cocktail list created by cocktail expert Carole Brown in collaboration with Boatyard Distillery. A la carte and tasting menus are also available during lunch and dinner on the terrace.
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Indian eatery has launched a Birthday Tasting Menu featuring dishes like Rajasthani churi chaat with sweet and tangy chutneys, Malai chicken tikka, coconut chili seabass, crispy lobster in sweet chili sauce, and grilled lamb chop with spiced marinade and pistachio crust.
The tasting menu is priced at £95 per person, with an additional £82 for wine pairing, applicable for a minimum of two guests.
Tamarind holds the distinction of being the first Indian restaurant in London to earn a Michelin star, offering a modern interpretation of India’s diverse flavors and textures.
