Passengers passing through Heathrow Terminal 2 can now savor a meal or glass of wine at The Vinery, a new wine bar and restaurant introduced by SSP. Designed to offer a luxurious yet accessible pre-flight experience, The Vinery features an extensive wine selection and a curated food menu.

With its eye-catching design and prime location, The Vinery provides all-day dining and a relaxed atmosphere for coffee or cocktails. A stunning 360-degree seamless screen displays bespoke imagery that captivates visitors as they exit security.

SSP UK & Ireland’s CEO, Kari Daniels, expressed excitement about welcoming passengers to this unique venue, highlighting their successful collaboration with the airport and the opportunity to enhance the customer experience.

The Vinery’s tailored menu emphasizes made-to-order dishes using high-quality ingredients sourced from local producers, including renowned vendors like H. Forman & Son and Paul Rhodes Bakery. Each dish is thoughtfully paired with a recommended wine to elevate the dining experience.

Breakfast options include a hearty full English breakfast or baked British eggs with prosciutto or sun-blushed tomatoes. Lighter choices feature coconut yogurt with granola or smashed avocado on toast, with optional additions like smoked salmon or scrambled eggs. During the day, patrons can enjoy a variety of open sandwiches, specialty platters, and freshly made salads. The Vinery prioritizes sustainability, offering a menu that is over a third plant-based or vegetarian, with no beef options available.

The curated wine list celebrates global options and showcases English wines, featuring single vintage selections from acclaimed Kent producer Gusbourne, as well as offerings from Nyetimber and Harrow and Hope. The Vinery utilizes the Coravin system to sell premium wines by the glass, and all front-of-house staff have undergone WSET training to assist customers in navigating the extensive wine choices.

Additionally, themed tasting flights and a diverse drinks menu are available, including coffee from Extract Coffee Roasters, tea, classic cocktails, craft beers, and soft drinks.

Fraser Brown, Retail Director at Heathrow, praised the partnership with SSP for introducing exciting brands, emphasizing the opening of The Vinery as a way to showcase premium English wines and high-quality British ingredients to an international audience.

To enhance the passenger experience, The Vinery incorporates digital technology, including Order At Table systems and digital wait-time screens, while also offering a Sommelier app for wine pairings at special tasting tables.

English Wine Weeks will be celebrated throughout the year, featuring workshops with Laura Rhys MS, prize draws, and special promotions.

Gusbourne CEO, Jonathan White, expressed delight in collaborating with SSP on The Vinery, emphasizing the perfect pairing of their award-winning wines with the premium food and service aimed at creating a luxurious pre-flight experience for travelers.
