Air raid sirens were activated in Tel Aviv on Tuesday after Hezbollah claimed responsibility for bombarding the Nirit area in the city’s suburbs with missiles.
According to the Israeli military, approximately 20 rockets were launched from Lebanon—five targeting central Israel and 15 aimed at the northern region. Efforts to intercept the missiles were reported, although the IDF stated there were no immediate reports of injuries.
Fragments from interceptors landed in the northern Israeli town of Ma’agan Michael, causing damage to both a building and vehicles, as reported by local media citing police.
Hezbollah also asserted that it hit the Glilot military intelligence base, which houses unit 8200 near Tel Aviv, and a naval base in Haifa. The group indicated that a “salvo of rockets” targeted the Stella Maris naval base located northwest of Haifa.
Verified videos from Al Jazeera’s Sanad agency demonstrated smoke rising near the Beit Aryeh settlement, which is located north of the occupied West Bank and to the east of Tel Aviv, following sirens sounding in three West Bank settlements.
In a separate update, at least 13 people have died and 57 were injured during an Israeli airstrike near the Rafik Hariri university hospital in Beirut, as reported by the Lebanese health ministry, which revised an initial death count of four.
Another 57 people were treated for injuries near the hospital, which is Lebanon’s largest public facility, situated a few kilometers from the Lebanese capital’s center.
Emergency responders were seen aiding victims at the hospital following the Israeli strikes, and visuals verified by media outlets illustrated the aftermath.
