Boxcar, a collection of neighborhood eateries and artisanal bakeries, is set to expand with the opening of its third location, Boxcar Bread & Wine, on Tuesday, 15 October in Connaught Village.

Boxcar Bread & Wine is committed to enhancing its presence in London’s vibrant food scene. Situated at a prime corner in Connaught Village, this venue will evolve from a casual daytime spot offering house-made pastries and seasonal lunches to a sophisticated evening destination with small plates and biodynamic wines.

Key features of Boxcar Bread & Wine include:
– Total seating for 70, both indoors and outdoors.
– An all-day dining experience catering to everything from morning coffee to relaxed lunches and evening dinners.

Head Chef Zisis Gkalmpenis will lead the culinary offerings, managing both the daytime and evening menus. The daytime menu, debuting on 15 October, will spotlight high-quality, fresh ingredients, featuring seasonal salads, house-baked bread, and daily specials. In the evenings, beginning in November, guests can enjoy an intimate dining experience with refined small plates like Chargrilled Hereford Ribeye Steak, Pan-roasted Cornish Sea Bass, and Artisanal British Cheeses paired with house-made bread.

The pastry selections, crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Liza Kermanidou, will include classic items such as Pain au Chocolat and Matcha Croissant, along with unique creations like Orange Blossom Brioche and Cinnamon Rice Pudding Danish with roasted plums. “Our pastry selection is crafted with utmost care, showcasing our commitment to quality and the creative spirit of Boxcar,” states Chef Kermanidou.

Founded by experienced restaurateurs Ankur Wishart and Barry Hirst, who are also behind The Broadcaster and The Lighterman, Boxcar has become a notable name in London’s farm-to-table dining scene. Managing Director Ankur Wishart shared, “Our growth is driven by our commitment to our team, providing more opportunities across all our venues. At Boxcar, nurturing talent is essential to delivering exceptional experiences.” Co-founder Barry Hirst added, “This venue is a significant milestone for us. It represents our vision of a neighborhood destination focused on quality ingredients and outstanding hospitality, while enriching the community we serve.”
