Hospitality entrepreneurs Matt Harris and Tommy Kempton, who also run the Clapham restaurant Ploussard, view their latest venture as a ‘confident progression’ for their business. They initially launched Other Side Fried from a converted truck in 2014, followed by the opening of their first brick-and-mortar location in Brixton in 2017.
After the closure of the Other Side Fried site on Atlantic Road, it will be redesigned to reflect the aesthetic of Ploussard, featuring wood paneling and neutral colors. The Buster’s concept, which was first introduced to loved ones during the pandemic, will present a simplified menu highlighting burgers made from Welsh wagyu beef sourced from Alternative Meats.
Menu offerings will include a classic hamburger and cheeseburger, both topped with green peppercorn dijonnaise, as well as a signature Buster burger featuring ‘Buster’s sauce.’ The burgers will be cooked medium and served in a custom-developed potato roll.
Dessert options will consist of chocolate mousse with caramel sauce, while beverages will include cocktails, locally brewed beers, and pet nat available by the glass. Kempton expresses, “Buster’s feels like a confident progression from Other Side Fried. It’s been an exciting journey, and we can’t wait to share this next chapter with Brixton and all our amazing diners.”
Meanwhile, Other Side Fried will remain operational as a delivery-only brand and will also participate in pop-up events at festivals and private gatherings.
