To celebrate their five-year partnership, Linthwaite House, part of the Leeu Collection, and Simon Rogan’s restaurant Henrock, which opened in autumn 2019, will hold a special week-long event from Wednesday, October 16th to Sunday, October 20th.
In recognition of this milestone, Executive Chef Paul Burgalières and Head Chef Mark McCabe have crafted a unique menu incorporating wood, the traditional fifth-anniversary gift. This menu highlights the rich produce found in British woodlands, including mushrooms, truffles, nuts, fruits, flowers, herbs, and wild venison. Highlights include dishes such as “Cartmel Valley venison blackened apple tart, begonia,” “Roasted Hen of the Woods, Bay shrimp, oxalis,” and “Birch sap syrup, cherry blossom poached cherries, and cobnut slice.”
Additionally, a special celebration package is available, including one night of luxury accommodation, a welcome drink, a tasting menu at Henrock, and breakfast from the Linthwaite House kitchen team. Guests will receive bespoke gifts from respected local producers.
The Leeu Collection, owned by global entrepreneur Analjit Singh (BAS), features luxury properties across South Africa and Europe. Each property is designed around crucial hospitality principles: distinctive architecture, exemplary design, intuitive service, and exceptional food, aiming to offer guests unique experiences.
The successful collaboration between BAS and acclaimed chef Simon Rogan began in early 2019, leading to the opening of Henrock, which has since earned national recognition, including mentions in the Michelin Guide.
Nestled in the breathtaking Lake District, Linthwaite House overlooks Windermere and offers 36 elegant guest rooms, a beautiful bar, and a serene conservatory, creating an ideal dining environment for Henrock.
Named after a rocky outcrop by Windermere, Henrock is distinct from Rogan’s other ventures by integrating global influences and culinary techniques from his travels. In alignment with his farm-to-table philosophy, seasonal ingredients are sourced from Our Farm in the Cartmel Valley and other premier UK suppliers.
Analjit Singh, the owner of The Leeu Collection, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s growth, emphasizing a commitment to delivering personal and memorable experiences for guests. Sam Ward, Managing Director of Umbel Restaurant Group, echoed this sentiment, noting the successful collaboration that has developed over the years.
The celebration package starts at £555 for two adults sharing a Classic double room with dinner, bed, and breakfast. For reservations, please email reservations@linthwaitehouse.com or call +44 (0) 15394 88600.
